I'm originally from Cincinnati, OH. I went to school at Ohio University and studied communications - but let's be honest, I really was just doing four years of research on how to throw an epic party.
I've lived all over the US and have traveled to every state except for three: Hawaii, Maine, and Vermont. I'm working on those last three! I've also traveled to many different countries. My favorite place in the world is Jackson Hole, WY. I lived there for a while and fully expect to move back when we are older. For now, I love Tacoma way too much to leave.
I adore my family. They all still live in Cincinnati but I talk to them every day. I have two nephews and one niece - William, Remy, and Lucille - whom I love fiercely. They are all so supportive of my ventures and adventures.
My whole family is musical - we all play an instrument or two and sing. We also love to share music back and forth. I have a deep love for Paul Simon. I sing in a community choir and at church. Prior to starting Grit City Weddings + Events, I had been in 70 weddings. In most of those, I was singing in the ceremony.
For more of my musical taste: The Black Keys, Talking Heads, Meatloaf (yep), The Lone Bellow, The Weeknd, Patty Griffin, Leon Bridges, Dire Straits, Johnny Cash, Bahamas, The Civil Wars (RIP), The Decemberists, The National Parks, Caamp, Alabama Shakes (RIP but also love Brittany Howard as a solo artist!), Noah Kahan, The Head and the Heart, Brandi Carlile, Fleet Foxes, Dolly Parton, Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine, Maggie Rogers, Cage The Elephant, so many movie soundtracks I cannot list them all, all 90's music that remind me of singing in my childhood bedroom - if you love these, too, tell me!!
I'm married to the best-looking guy on earth. Ross keeps me grounded and is always quietly supporting me in the background. We've been married since 2015 and I can ten-out-of-ten recommend marriage. Though, I'm guessing since you're here, you probably think marriage is a good idea.
We have a giant, fluffy cat named Roosevelt. We 100% believe that cat is our child and will do anything for him. I knew I loved Ross when I saw how much he loved cats.
I love all types of events but I especially love weddings. And it's not because I "love love". I really enjoy helping make, what can be an emotional day, a little less stressful. I love making a space where you can spend time with your friends and family without worrying about when the food will come out, how the DJ will know when to play the right song, and where the photographer should be at any given moment. I just want the day to run smoothly.
Like I've said one million times, it would be a joy to be at your wedding!

It’s such a joy to be part of your big day! I’m excited to dive into the details with you, ensuring your celebration is everything you’ve envisioned—and crafting a day you’ll never forget, surrounded by the people who matter most.
Born in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, and raised in Syracuse, Utah, I’ve called Tacoma home for nearly 9 years. I’m a proud mom of three wonderful kids, and when I’m not coordinating events, I’m enjoying quality family time. Outside of work, I’m passionate about fashion, fitness, traveling, and of course, I always love a good time—and scrumptious food! I’m definitely a sucker for some good French fries.
What truly lights me up about planning and coordinating weddings and events is the magic in the little details—those “sprinkles” that make your day unforgettable and tell your unique story. I can’t wait to celebrate all those “sprinkles” with you!

I'm originally from the small Danish town of Solvang, CA. One of my favorite things to do is bring friends to visit and play tourist in my own hometown - between the wine tasting, beach, and Danish pastries, it’s hard to beat.
I moved to Washington for college where I studied Communications and Visual Art at Whitworth University.
I’m married to a talented surgeon who I met 10+ years ago when I was a college freshman and he was still conducting research studies while pursuing the pre-med track. We met in line at the cafeteria. His pick-up line: I like your sandwich. True story.
I LOVE to create. Whether it’s in my art studio with a paintbrush or on my computer designing graphics and websites, my creativity can keep me up late into the night.
I’m passionate about helping businesses with a great cause or fantastic product who don’t have the time or expertise to get the word out with consistency. And I LOVE getting to work with Ashley and the Grit City team to help attract amazing clients who want a wedding or event that ROCKS.
Ashley would never say “no” to a good party!
We believe everyone deserves to have a well-executed day —regardless of budget, style, who you want to marry, where you want to get married, or any other label our society can apply to the tradition of a wedding. Does that mean we can throw a 200-person wedding on a $10,000 budget? Likely not. But we can discuss the right areas to spend money on so the day looks and feels like the two of you.
At Grit City , we wake up every morning excited to talk about, plan, and execute events; and we will bring that excitement to your wedding day. We look forward to meeting your friends and family and bringing your wedding dreams to life!
